Born in Hong Kong in 1962, Gary Chang graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1987 with a degree in Architecture. He has won several awards for his architectural, interior and product design, and is a frequent lecturer at various institutions around the globe.

He founded his company EDGE in 1994, and was one of 12 architects chosen to participate in the Commune by the Great Wall project.
