DESIGN CONCEPT

'The Walnut Valley' features 11 villas and 1 Commune club which were designed by 12 Asian architects and include furniture and pieces by designers such as Thierry Hoppe, Philippe Starck, Karim Rashid, Marc Newson and Serge Mouille amongst many more.

A new partnership with Kempinski Hotels has introduced 31 new villas in 'The Stone Valley' which are designed in keeping with the original villas, but more suited to the individual traveller on a lesser budget – a great base from which to admire this new architectural wonder.

THE TWINS – Kay Ngee Tan (Singapore)

The Architects inspiration for the design of the Twin House came from the traditional Chinese landscape paintings depicting the ambiguity between nature and the man-made.

The Twin house has been designed to integrate seamlessly with its natural environment, the main material component is a locally sourced stone, and the house has been carefully positioned within the valley to allow connectivity to it’s natural surroundings.

The Twin House consists of a main house and a smaller annex, both L-shaped and surrounding internal courtyards, allowing intimacy and privacy within the house, whilst also allowing visual connection to the outdoors. Timber decks run along the perimeter of the house, connecting the two buildings and allowing spaces for rest and contemplation.

FEATURES

The main house is made up of four large bedrooms, with ensuites with skylights allowing for starlight bathing, a double height living area with fireplace, with valley views on one side and a private courtyard on the other. The master bedroom on the mezzanine level also features a study/library.

In the smaller annex is the kitchen and a more intimate dining room with large glass windows opening to onto an outdoor terrace with views of the Great Wall and mountains.

Suitable activities: Private gatherings, small meetings, fashion events, open-air barbeques on the flat roof.

The Commune also features several restaurants serving authentic local cuisine, a Club House complete with a business centre, gallery and cinema, and a Kid’s Club designed for children aged 2-12 with organised activities.

The Anantara Spa features 15 Spa suites where guests can enjoy luxurious Asian-inspired treatments, as well as fitness area and rooftop yoga.
