Architects Statement: Angkasa n; The Heavens: Derived from the Malay language
The Angkasa is a luxury retreat inspired from the ideas and ideals from our family. It embodies the values and spirit of our family and the experiences collected along our life journeys.
The original idea for the Angkasa was formed when the family came to holiday on the Coast. The Sunshine Coast was an ideal location that reflected the same lifestyle and ideals that were familiar to the family growing up on the Malaysian Coast. An ideal site was eventually found that would be the perfect backdrop for this retreat. An idyllic, serene position, that was nestled between tropical rainforest and the sea, while still being conveniently located to all modern amenities.
The Angkasa’s design was the blend of the Sunshine Coast’s unique progressive beach style blended with an Asian aesthetic. The Angkasa is owned and created by a designer who wanted to share a vision of beachside sub tropical paradise blended with the cutting edge in design and materials. Built in accordance to Feng Shui principles the ambience of the retreat soothes and pampers. The Zen calmness of the interior spaces and artful framing of the beautiful natural surrounds ease the mind, while the exotic materials and striking building still indulges all the sensual luxuries.
The spaces in the retreat are designed to encourage the activities that the family loves to do. Whether it is cooking a delicious meal in the gourmet kitchen, gazing into the starry summer nights while reclining on the daybed, nestling into a deep leather armchair with a book overlooking the rainforest, meditating while taking in the serene sounds of nature or soaking in the swirling warm spa waters, the Angkasa is designed to rejuvenate, relax and provide a space that maximises creativity.

• All suites have home entertainment facilities with widescreen TVs, DVD & CD players with ipod attachments.
• 3 rooms have king sized beds 1 room queen size bed.
• All bedding is of the highest quality with 400 thread count Egyptian cotton, Vietnamese silk comforters and a range of luxury pillow types available.
• Personalised check in and familiarisation from host.
• In house dining ,picnic lunches and events can be pre arranged.

Extra services include:
In house dining services - Anything from an intimate candlelit dinner, packed picnic lunches for the beach to full catered events can be arranged from our panel of caterers. Wait staff can also be arranged.
Prior to check in, each room minibar can be customised from our menu, to be stocked with a wide range of gourmet products to suit each of the individual needs of guests. Alternatively a welcome hamper of gourmet products can be arranged upon arrival for your stay.
A full in house library of movie DVDs, Music CDs, books and games can be made available.
In house massages can be arranged to your room or on the terrace overlooking the ocean and rainforest. A range of treatments is offered.
Private yoga lessons can also be arranged on a group or individual basis.
Management can liaise and pre arrange local tours and for your convenience. Some of the options include Golf packages, Australia zoo, Wreck diving at the HMAS Brisbane, tiger moth bi plane flights, gliding and surf lessons.
LOCATION
The retreat is set in native sub tropical rainforest, home to many native endangered species. It also sits opposite three secluded and un spoilt beaches, which are some of the Coast’s best secrets.
Coolum village is only a short 5 min coastal walk along beautiful boardwalks, and has many great cafes, restaurants and beauty facilities.
There are also many great natural bush and coast walks surrounding the property as well as championship golf courses only 5 mins away.

RATES
The Angkasa is leased out on a whole venue basis which includes four bedroom suites which comfortably sleeps eight. One more guest may be accommodated for an additional charge.
A minimum stay is three nights. If a special event is to be held, then a five night minimum applies.
Rates start from $107/person/night, based on 8 share for 7 nights.
